Parts one and two available to stream now
Think Tank: The Podcast presents their first long-length audio documentary exposing Cardiff’s Homeless Crisis. Part one begins with a story from ‘Thomas’, not his real name, they’ve respected his wishes to remain anonymous given the sensitivity of his story and work. Thomas’s story acts as the backbone of the documentary with many of the interviews segueing off chapters of his story. They spoke to ‘Paul’, a man living on the street in central Cardiff . He tells Think Tank about his life on the streets for the past 9 years, the highs and lows, and tells the tale of a near-death experience only a few weeks prior. Harry and co-producer Tanya go out in the city looking for ‘Spice’ a ‘legal’-high which is prevalent amongst this community, causing more harm than good. And finally, Harry takes part in the ‘Student Sleep Out’, an initiative from Cardiff University Students’ Union which aims to raise awareness for those sleeping rough in the cold winter.
Part two starts with the morning after the sleep out, getting reactions from the students that took part. Harry talks to a pastor from Glenwood Church who works closely with the homeless community at The Taf Centre. And Harry is joined by Jo Stevens, MP for Cardiff Central and asks ‘is enough being done?’.
This has been in production for around 18 months with interviews from those living on the streets and those working to help people who are.
